We are always on the move. We could be chasing dreams, fleeing, searching, or anticipating. Regardless, dejections and celebrations, melancholies and rhapsodies accompany us along the way. Notwithstanding, too, there is always the option to take the path of the Lord, and respond to his invitation: “Come, follow me, and I will send you out to fish for people” (Mt 4:19). Trappist monk and spiritual writer Thomas Merton wrote, “For each one of us, there is only one thing necessary: to fulfill our own destiny, according to God’s will, to be what God wants us to be.” Destiny and God’s will may not only be elusive and obscure; they can also be discordant. But for someone who seeks the Lord, destiny is realized by trying to become what God wants us to be and doing what he wants us to do. This book hopes to offer additional insights on our ongoing saga of walking with the Lord. With Volume One rallying us towards faith, hope, love, compassion, and joy, this volume takes us deeper into our pilgrimage of encountering the Lord, journeying with his people, and understanding more the ways of Christ our Divine Master, the Good Shepherd.
