The desire for knowledge is something natural to man. And his happiness is closely linked to wisdom. Wisdom enables man to discover the meaning of his life and to act in a upright way. In contrast, ignorance, as the source of disorder and errors in behavior, prevent him from attaining happiness.
The teachings of the Magisterium of the Church regarding philosophy veer toward a clear objective: to serve man in his quest for truth and the meaning of his life.
This book states the principal issues concerning the nature and relationship of philosophy in theology. Theology makes use of philosophy not because it cannot stand by itself. But because of the limits of the human reason. Through his knowledge acquired through the use of natural reason. A man can easily deepen his understanding of truth, particularly the supernatural truths.

Mariano Artigas is a professor of Philosophy at the University of Navarre in Spain, where he served as the Dean of the Ecclesiastical Faculty of Philosophy. He specializes in the relation between science, philosophy and theology. His published books include “The Philosophy of Nature”.

He is a titular member of the International Academy of Philosophy of Sciences in of the Pontifical Council for the Dialogue with non-believers and visiting professor at various iniversities in Europe.
